The Microsoft Maia 100 is Microsoft's first custom AI accelerator, fabricated on TSMC's 5nm process. Designed specifically for Azure AI infrastructure, it features HBM memory and integrates with a custom liquid cooling solution called Sidekick. Maia 100 is purpose-built to power Microsoft's largest AI workloads including Azure OpenAI Service and Copilot, reducing dependency on third-party accelerators.
